Our people make Grayson County special and within our community is a modern health care facility capable of providing area residents with the state-of-the-art medical care they deserve.

Grayson County War Memorial Hospital opened its doors in 1951 as a 20-bed Leitchfield hospital, but it has grown immensely in the decades since, and is now known as the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center (270) 259-9400 at 910 Wallace Avenue.

The 75-bed, acute care facility is located in a 1979 two-story structure. The obstetrics department was renovated and expanded. Twin Lakes Regional is also proud of a $3 million project to build a new emergency department and expand the radiology department.

No longer just a county hospital, Twin Lakes Regional is one of the state’s premier rural facilities, earning national recognition and awarded in 1998 “Accreditation with Commendation”from the national Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as well as designated as a “Top Performer” in the 1999 Performance Review, A Guide to U.S. Hospitals from the Center of Health Industry Performance Studies.

The medical staff has quadrupled in the past two decades, now including 24 highly skilled physicians in 10 specialities. The hospital offers outpatient specialty clinics, such as oncology and neurology, numerous diagnostic testing capabilities, and much more, including home health, rehabilitation services and The Ralph G. Thomas Ambulatory Surgery Center. Twin Lakes Regional has evolved and expanded through the years to meet the ever-changing needs of the residents of Grayson and surrounding counties.
